I think the worst beginning is Batman Forever. Batman On Ice? No thanks. It reeked of the old TV series that Tim Burton's Batman movies tried to move away from. You had to be under 13 to enjoy the Non-Burton/Nolan films.

Anyway, back to your topic. I'm still thinking about movies & novels, but my favorite videogame beginning is probably Metal Gear Solid for PS1. The opening cinematic was ahead of anything of it's time with "camerawork" & voice acting that rivaled some movies.

Sorry I misinterpreted you. Square Enix might have intentionally left the ending vague. They made a sequel called Final Fantasy X-2. I've never played it, but I heard the story is more light-hearted.

I'm no lawyer either, but after reading this correspondence it would seem that the Bob Barr campaign's argument might be worth hearing in court, at least to better clarify the law. I still think issuing a press release at this time was a bad idea.
